Figure 3: Follow-up - Over the ensuing 3 months, the animal was stall rested, until one day lameness suddenly recurred, and prompted renewed radiographic examination. A slightly oblique view showed separation along the distal one half of the vertical fracture plane (split arrows), creating an intraarticular fragment roughly tetrahedral in shape and measuring about 1 inch on each side.
